Glass is an excellent material for preparing, storing and serving food because it is non-porous.  Glass is made from non-toxic, naturally occuring raw materials - sand, soda ash and limestone.  The other great thing about glass is that it is easily recycled, reducing the manufacturing and landfill impact on the environment.
